'Learning and Growing Together'

Home Page

Fir Tree School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works tirelessly to organise fundraising events to enhance the school curriculum. We raise money to pay for extra classroom supplies, play equipment and treats for the children.

We raise money by holding events such as the Christmas Craft Fayre and Summer Fete, running Bingo and Quiz Nights, holding cake sales, and helping with community events such as the Wallingford Fireworks.

Typically, each year the PTA pays for:

  • Memory boxes for new children
  • Gardener
  • First News subscription
  • Leavers’ party

In 2015-6, the PTA funded and created the new school pond, complete with plants and frogs! The PTA contributed to the purchase of recorders for all new Fir Tree Students as well as other instruments as the orchestra begins to grow. We funded purchase of playground equipment, their repair and new bouncy mats to play on outside. This year, we have been asked to purchase additional instruments, new cameras for classes and fund resurfacing around some of the playground equipment.

Getting involved:

We meet three times a year to plan how to raise and spend money. If you would like to get involved, come along to one of the meetings, email us at or speak with Julie Bywater (chair), Andy Roles (treasurer) or Anna Hindle (secretary).

Keeping in touch:

The PTA sends out a termly newsletter with details of upcoming events. Details of events are posed on the noticeboard. We also have a Facebook page, ( where we keep you up to date.
