COVID-19 Catch-Up Funding

The government has allocated additional funding to schools to support those pupils who would benefit from extra support. The universal catch-up premium is to ensure that schools can support pupils in making up for any loss of learning during the recent lockdown of schools

Our school’s allocation is based on a calculation of £80 per pupil, which will be paid in three tranches, Autumn, Spring and Summer. While the funding is calculated on a per pupil basis, schools have been told to use the sum available to them as a single total from which to prioritise support for pupils depending on their need.

The Governors of our school have agreed to spend the funding on after school sessions where teachers and TAs will be taking groups of children for additional work on reading, writing and maths.
